What to expect?
Paint with Shell's paint parties are a form of entertainment that combine socialising, painting, eating and drinking. It involves a group of people, coming together at a designated location, such as a restaurant, bar or art gallery to paint a canvas while often sipping on drinks.

You're provided with all the necessary painting supplies, including canvases, brushes, and paints, as well as step-by-step instructions from a professional artist - me, Shell! I guide the group through the process of creating a painting from start to finish, with a pre-drawn outline already done of the subject. I teach you how to mix colours and different painting techniques. My classes are designed for absolute beginners - with no previous experience required. So if you haven't painted since high school, you have nothing to worry about.

During the painting session, participants are encouraged to relax, socialise, get creative and enjoy the experience. By the end of the session, everyone will have a finished painting to take home as a memento of the experience.

What is included in the cost of the ticket?IN PERSON CLASSES The price per seat includes everything you’ll need to create your masterpiece. You’ll have all the necessary equipment provided, including: A 40 x 50cm blank canvas Acrylic paints Brushes Table easel Water glass Pencil Apron Table cloths All sessions include step by step guidance to assist you in releasing your inner Picasso. Please note: the price is for the canvas and for my guidance only, the other equipment provided is for use during the session. FACEBOOK ONLINE CLASSES / ZOOM PAINT PARTIES You will need to source your own art supplies - the price of your ticket is for my guidance only. Please see dot points above of what you will need for the class. Feel free to email me if you need help on where to buy your supplies.

How much does it cost?Pop-up classes start at $55. You may notice some of my classes are more expensive, this usually means there are more inclusions like a glass of wine, nibbles or a wine tasting experience.

How do I book?POP UP CLASS If you'd like to book into a pop up class you can do so by purchasing an Eventbrite ticket. Eventbrite is the platform I use to advertise my events to a greater audience. PRIVATE PARTY If you'd like to book a private party you can email shelley@creativeshell.com.au or fill in my booking enquiry form and I will send you a confirmation email. You will need to pay a $10 deposit (per person) to confirm your booking.

What if I don't know how to paint?These classes are for you! My paintings are designed for complete beginners, I walk you through step by step on how to create your very own masterpiece. Any skill level is welcome! I am a tutor that gives you the freedom to be creative. You don’t have to listen to everything I have to say, art is therapy and this should be your chance to de-stress, unwind, and let your imagination run wild! I pre-draw the outline for you so you don’t have to stress about getting the correct proportions. I use a projector to project my artwork onto the canvas - that way it will be exactly the same as the original. This comes at no additional cost to you.

What if I need to cancel?IN PERSON CLASSES I understand that sometimes life gets in the way, which is why I'm happy to cancel your booking (minus the Eventbrite $2.00 per ticket service fee), up to 48-hours before your scheduled session time. If cancelling within 48-24 hours, a $12 per ticket fee will be applied. If cancelling within 24 hours or no-shows, the full ticket fee will be applied and no refund issued.

Are children allowed to take part in your adult workshops?POP UP CLASS My classes are for adults, however children are always welcome to paint! There MUST be a supervising adult with them at all times. There are no age restrictions - they will need to be able to sit for 2-3 hours without being disruptive to others. Children are also welcome to attend as non-painters, again - they will need to be able to sit for 2-3 hours without being disruptive to others.

Can we bring our own nibbles and food?POP UP CLASSES Of course! (On the condition we are not at a venue that provides food and drink) I strongly encourage everyone to have a little food while they paint to keep those creative juices flowing! If we are at a venue that provides food and drink - please support them by coming earlier and grabbing a bite to eat.

Can I bring alcohol?Some premises do not allow alcohol.... but if the premises does then YES you can! If you wish to bring alcohol, please let me know and I can confirm if it is allowed. Please remember to bring your own glass too! If we are at a venue where alcohol is available to purchase you cannot bring your own unless the venue allows it.

Is your event COVID-Safe?creative shell is a registered COVID-Safe business. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend. Hand sanitiser will be available.

How long does the workshop go for?My workshops are designed to be completed within 2-3 hours, sometimes it can take a little longer depending on the individual artist. It is important to arrive on time, if you're late we can't wait. Pop up venues are only booked for a certain amount of time, and it is important we leave the premises on time.

What If I don't finish?IN PERSON CLASSES My workshop paintings are designed to be completed within 2-3 hours. If you don't manage to finish in time, no need to stress - I can give you some paint to take home so you can finish it off.

What kind of paint do you use?We use non-toxic, water based acrylic paint.

What should I wear?For in-person classes, I provide aprons to protect your clothing, but aprons don't protect your arms. I recommend wearing something that the sleeves can be rolled up on. We use acrylic paint, which is water based and non-toxic but it can stain clothing.

Can you pre-draw an outline for me?Of course! To give you a little head start on your painting, I pre-draw the outline for you so you don't have to stress about getting the correct proportions. I use a projector to project my artwork onto the canvas - that way it will be exactly the same as the original.

Do you offer catering?Some of my classes are catered for an additional cost. This will include: Cheese, crackers, dip, grapes (if in season), carrots and something sweet.

How far do you travel?From Sydney - Port Macquarie and everywhere in-between.
